America’s National Weather Service has expressed the possibility of snowfall of up to 1 foot in the capital Washington. White House spokesperson said that President Joe Biden is monitoring the situation and is ready to provide all possible help to the affected states.
People’s problems have increased significantly due to the storm and hailstorm. According to news agency Reuters, millions of people are facing difficulties in travelling. People are not able to go out even to buy their daily needs.
The roads are completely covered with snow, people are facing huge difficulties even in walking.

Storm caused by polar vortex Polar Vortex is believed to be the main reason for this snow storm in America. Polar vortexes flow counter-clockwise. Due to the geographical structure, the Polar Vortex usually revolves around the North Pole, but when it moves towards the south, it brings severe cold to America, Europe and Asia.

Tracking websites PowerOutage and FlightAware reported that 1.75 million people from Missouri to Virginia were without power as of Monday. More than 2400 flights have been cancelled.
Missouri’s state agency said that as of Sunday, more than 1,000 vehicles were stuck in the snow. Kentucky State Governor Andy Beshear has appealed to people to stay at home.
The National Weather Service has warned that hail and tornadoes may occur in the south-eastern states. At some places the temperature can reach minus 18 degrees Celsius. Scientists say that due to human activities the earth’s temperature is continuously increasing, due to which such extreme weather events are increasing.
