PVR Iinox has filed a case of Rs 60 crore against Madock Films. Madock Films had decided to release the film ‘Bhool Chuk Maaf’ on OTT instead of theaters citing the current stressful situation between India and Pakistan.
Now PVR has reached the High Court against this decision of Iinox Production House. He has demanded a ban on OTT release. Madock has been severely accused of violating the theatrical agreement.
The film Critic Sumit Kadale has informed about the whole matter in a conversation with Dainik Bhaskar. Sumit said- ‘Look, two days ago when the news came that the film will be released on OTT, I still tweeted. But the advance cell of the film was very bad. Even after the announcement of Madock, Iinox had kept the advance booking of the film open till Thursday. Iinox PVR and Cinepolis sold only four thousand tickets. According to him, the opening of the film would have been at most two-three crores. After the last moment advance booking was opened, Madock postponed the film, which is very wrong.
Madock did not even tell the PVR INOX and the rest of its exhibitors partner so Iinox has filed a case. This is absolutely justified. The contract is signed for the theater release, you cannot break the contract. Madock should have told the whole thing by taking his multiplex into confidence. He could have said that we will not take OTT after two weeks or when the situation improves, then we will bring it to the theater. Bringing the film directly to OTT states that his intention was something else. The statement given is something else.

Court reached the court against not breaking the agreement
According to Bhaskar sources, the PVR INAX vs. Madock case reached the Bombay High Court on 9 May. Madock is alleged to have announced the release on OTT on 16 May without explaining. Because of this, PVR Iinox has reached the High Court to prevent digital release. The promotion of the film has been going on for the last five months, in such a situation, the question arises that if the film was to be released on OTT itself, then the theatrical agreement and promotion were not required.
Let us know that Rajkummar Rao and Vamika Gabbi’s film ‘Bhoom Logs Maaf’ was going to be released in theaters on 9 May. But Madock announced the release of the OTT platform on 16 May instead of this sudden theater.
