India’s Digital Strike on Pakistan 8000 X Accounts Banned AMID Attacks in many places including Jammu

India-pakistan: India has also taken a big step on the digital front amid Pakistan’s attack in many areas including Jammu. Social media platform X (first Twitter) has started blocking more than 8,000 accounts in the country on the instructions of the Government of India. This information itself was given by the company’s Global Government Affairs Team.

Shared information on x

According to the company, these orders clearly states that if X does not block these accounts, then the company can be fined and its employees in India may have to go to jail. The blocked accounts also include profiles of international media houses and some famous celebrities. The X said that in most cases the government did not say which law these accounts have violated the law. Many times neither the reason was told nor any evidence was shared.

X says that he is blocking these accounts only in India so that the services of the platforms can continue in the country. The company said, “We do not agree with the orders of the government, but we had to take this difficult decision so that people in India should be connected with information.”

Elon Musk not satisfied with the government’s decision

The company owned by Allen Musk also clarified that it wants to be transparency about the government’s orders but the current legal rules do not allow it. “Not sharing this information can be an obstacle in determining the government’s accountability and can promote arbitrary decisions,” X said.

Significantly, this action has taken place at a time when tension on the Indo-Pak border is at its peak. Blackout was implemented in many parts of the country after an attempt by Pakistan at Jammu Airport on Thursday night. There was dark shadow in Bhuj in Kutch district of Gujarat, while in Jalandhar, Gurdaspur, Pathankot and Amritsar in Punjab, electricity was also cut due to security reasons.

In many areas of Jammu and Kashmir, such as Udhampur, Uri, Poonch, Rajouri, Kishtwar, Akhnoor and Samba, there were signs of emergency preparations. Amidst all these incidents, the action on X accounts has launched a new debate about social media censorship.
