Five youths died in a horrific road accident late Friday night in Amarwara police station area of Chhindwara district. The accident occurred in a face-to-face collision of two bikes near Chaurasia Petrol Pump located on Amarwada-Charai Road. Two youths died on the spot in the accident, while three other youths died during treatment. Sukhram Yadav (21), Ayush Yadav (19), Shehzad Khan (19), Vikram Uike (18) and Avinash Uike (18) have lost their lives in the accident. Among them, Sukhram and Ayush were from the same family, while Vikram and Avinash were residents of Lingapani village.

According to eyewitnesses, Sukhram, Ayush and Shehzad riding on a bike were being touched from Amarwada to join a procession. At the same time, Vikram and Avinash riding on another bike were coming from Lingapani to Amarwada for the wedding ceremony. The two bikes collided with face to face near Chaurasia Petrol Pump. The collision was so severe that the bike riders fell away.

On receiving information about the incident, the injured were immediately brought to Amarwara Hospital, where three succumbed during treatment. As soon as the accident was reported, the families of the deceased reached the hospital and created a ruckus alleging negligence in treatment. He alleged that the doctors did not get treatment on time, which could not save the lives of the youth. In view of the situation, SDM Hemkaran Dhurve, SDOP Ravindra Mishra, Tehsildar Rajesh Marawi and TI Rajendra Dhurve reached the spot and explained to the family, after which the situation calmed down. The police are investigating the cause of the accident by registering a case.
