South’s lady superstar Nayanthara has been surrounded by controversies for a long time due to her documentary Beyond the Fairytale. This film has been released on Netflix, after which the actress is stuck in legal troubles. Some time ago Dhanush had taken legal action against the actress, now the makers of the film Chandramukhi have sent a legal notice to Nayanthara.

According to reports, the makers of the film Chandramukhi have sent a legal notice to both Nayanthara and Netflix. There are allegations that Nayanthara has used footage of the film Chandramukhi, released in 2005, in her wedding documentary without permission. The makers of Chandramukhi have demanded a compensation of Rs 5 crore from Netflix and the actress. At present, no statement has come from Nayanthara’s side in this regard.

Dhanush first sent a legal notice, then filed a complaint

Before the makers of Chandramukhi, actor Dhanush had also sent a legal notice to Nayanthara for using the scenes of his film Naanum Rowdy Dham without permission. After receiving the legal notice demanding compensation of Rs 10 crore, Nayanthara fiercely criticized Dhanush on social media and told him many things.

Nayanthara wrote in her post, ‘You have become a successful actor because of your father and brother, but I had no godfather in the film industry. However, I never thought you would stoop so low.

After Nayanthara’s post surfaced, Dhanush’s lawyer had issued a statement, in which he talked about taking legal action against Nayanthara. Also giving an ultimatum of 24 hours, he said that if that footage was not removed from the documentary, then a compensation of Rs 10 crore would have to be paid.

After the controversy escalated, Dhanush has filed a civil case in the Madras High Court against the actress and her documentary.

What is the whole matter?

Beyond the Fairytale, a documentary on Nayanthara’s life, has been released on Netflix on 18 November 2024. Nayanthara’s personal life and filmography have been included in the documentary. During the making of the documentary, Nayanthara had sought permission from Dhanush to use the songs and visuals of the film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, as she was in the lead role in it. However Dhanush clearly denied this.

After some time, when the trailer of the film was released, 3 second visuals of Nanum Rowdy Dham were used in it. After this Dhanush sent a legal notice of Rs 10 crore to the actress. Similarly, visuals from the 2005 film Chandramukhi have also been used in the documentary.
