Jio Star, formed by the merger of Star India and Viacom18, has filed a new broadcast tariff, which suggests that the new packs will be costlier than the independent packs of both the companies. Additionally, the broadcaster has introduced 83 packs containing 134 channels, which include Star Plus, Colors, Star Gold and Star Sports. With special cricket rights for IPL, ICC and BCCI events, Jio Star can definitely come with a premium price tag. Recently Sony and Zee also increased the prices of their packs, with base bouquet prices increasing by more than 10%.
