Visibility in the capital reached zero due to which 51 trains were delayed and the timing of many flights had to be changed. Officials of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) have given this information.
According to the news agency report, IMD has said that there was zero visibility in Palam area from 4 am to 7:30 am. Officials said the Jira visibility period was 3.5 hours on Sunday compared to 9 hours on Saturday. On Sunday, the maximum temperature recorded in Delhi was 18.6 degrees Celsius, which was 0.7 degrees below the normal average. The minimum temperature was 9.4 degrees Celsius. The humidity throughout the day remained between 83% to 95%.
The Meteorological Department has predicted light rain and thunderstorms in the morning in the capital Delhi on Monday. The surface wind speed is expected to be less than 4 km per hour in the morning. There will be mist and moderate fog at most places, while dense fog is likely to occur in some areas.
The wind speed may increase to 6-8 km per hour in the afternoon and may slow down again to less than 6 km per hour in the evening and night. According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 18 and 11 degrees Celsius respectively.
Delhi’s air quality is very bad
Delhi’s air quality also reached ‘very poor’ category on Sunday. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the 24-hour average AQI has been recorded at 339. AQI is rated on a scale of 0-50 ‘good’, 51-100 ‘satisfactory’, 101-200 ‘moderate’, 201-300 ‘poor’, 301-400 ‘very poor’ and 401-500 ‘severe’. .
