Actor Raghav Tiwari, who has been a part of many films including Priyanka Chopra starrer Mary Kom, Saas Bahu and Flamingo, has recently been fatally attacked. After a minor argument he got into a scuffle and was then attacked with a rod, due to which his head was fractured. The actor has lodged a complaint in this matter, although no action has been taken against the attacker till now. According to the actor, the attacker is the son of action director Parvez Shaikh.
Talking about the attack, actor Raghav Tiwari said, it was on December 30, I was returning home with my friends after purchasing goods from D-Mart. Meanwhile, I got down from the car and started crossing the road. A scooterist was passing by, I accidentally came in front of him. I admitted my mistake and apologized, saying – I didn’t see, I made a mistake. He started abusing how he didn’t see, why he didn’t see. So I told him – I said sorry, now you go, we will fight a little.
As soon as I said that I would not fight, he took out his knife and used it. I am an actor, I know how to use a knife, seeing the way he used it, I understood whether he is a professional knifeman or a goon, whose only job is to use knives and fight.
The actor further said, I moved away from her. One of my friends came in between and intervened. The man again slapped me, I again moved away saying that I did not want to fight. I am doing a series, I did not want my work to be hampered due to injury. My friend who was parking the car also came to stop me, but in the meantime the man kicked me hard. His beatings and abuses were increasing. I started looking around for things for self-defense. I got a stick, meanwhile he took out more weapons from his car. Took out the beer bottle and took out the rod. When I hit him with a stick, the beer bottle slipped out of his hand.
Raghav Tiwari further said, as soon as I hit him again with the stick, it broke. As soon as the stick broke, he hit me on the head and then on the back of the head. My head got torn, I got 5 stitches at the front and 6 at the back. There was a lot of bleeding. I fell down and then the people around me and my friend Nancy took me to the hospital.
Actor said- Police did not take any action
During the conversation, the actor told that there was a fatal attack on him, but the police has not imposed any such sections on him. He said, the police have imposed sections 118 (1) and 352. Everyone we spoke to said that section 307 or 326 should be imposed. I told the police that he had taken out a knife, but the reply was, what evidence do you have? If the police is taking someone’s statement, then take it in the same manner as told. But the police did not listen to me. As I said, no case was registered. I asked him to get the CCTV footage, then he said bring it. On our request the police came to take the footage, but despite this they did not impose any section.
The attacker threatened again – Raghav Tiwari
The actor has told that after the complaint was registered, the attacker came to apologize, but when he refused to talk, he again started abusing and threatening. The actor says that despite the matter being serious, the police has not taken any action yet. Raghav Tiwari has told that the name of the person who attacked him is Mohammad Zaid. Her father Parvez Shaikh is an action director.
